Based in the winter wonderland that is Wedderburn, come and explore, photograph and be inspired by the beautiful Maniototo area of Central Otago. Join a small group of like minded photographers as we travel around discovering amazing vistas exposed by the soft light this region is famous for.

These workshops cover all aspects of landscape photography from composition to dealing with unfavourable light. Should we encounter adverse conditions that prevent us from getting into the field we will cover post-processing techniques designed to enhance your images.

Please note:  This workshop is predominately designed to make the most of the lighting conditions likely encountered in this region - hence, photographic capturing takes preference over processing of images.

We will stay at the comfortable and warm Wedderburn Cottages and have evening meals at local historic taverns.

Included in the price per person are the following:

  • Accommodation in Wedderburn
  • Continental breakfast
  • Evening meals
  • Tuition
  • Photographic book showcasing images supplied by each attendee of the workshop as a memory of your time in this fabulous area.

April 21 - 24, 2023

April 28 - May 01, 2023

The first and last dates are travelling days.

From Christchurch we will travel via the McKenzie Country and over the Lindis Pass, stopping when photographs become apparent.

These workshops see us based in beautiful Cromwell only a skip and a hop from the tracks we will be exploring:

  • Nevis Valley via Arrowtown and Garston
  • Thomson's Gorge Track
These areas are full of stunning colours in autumn and lovely lighting conditions at this time of the year.

Come and be inspired by what the first gold miners of the region discovered.

These boutique workshops are spread over four days to allow photographic meandering upon our travels into Central Otago.

Photographic groups are limited to nine photographers.

Included in the price per person are the following:

  • Accommodation in Cromwell
  • Continental breakfast
  • Evening meals - local restaurants
  • Tuition

Some post-production knowledge is required for these courses as the use of masks, layers and adjustment layers features heavily in each of the workshops.

The numbers are limited so that everyone has a chance to capture components of imagery for themselves and so that the tutor can see how well everyone is grasping a concept. It is held in a nurturing environment and the numbers are limited to encourage confidence and a sense of fun. No question or idea is a stupid one and full participation is required of everyone so you all get something from the workshop.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via the Contact page. We are here to assist you!
